There’s no doubt that over the last couple of years more of us have needed to find ways to better utilise the spaces in our home.

This can be something of a challenge in the bedroom. If you need to have a desk in your bedroom, then you don’t want to have a background of your bed behind you if you’re online.

And when the time comes to go to bed at night, the last thing you want to see is your desk sitting there, reminding you of work. You want to relax!

So what’s the solution? Well, one very clever idea is to choose some pretty manchester and drape it over a frame, so your desk is masked from view whenever you need it to be.

One possibility would be to use a tall laundry airer or two. Or a portable clothes rack. You could even have two sheets – one for a more professional look during the day, and a softer, more relaxing pattern for bedtime.

You could also consider using a sofa that converts into a bed. During the day, with cushions placed on it, use it as a sofa. Then at night, fold it down and you have your bed.

Even better, if it’s high enough, use the space underneath for storage. If you cover it with the right kind of sheet, along with cushions, it could even look like a sofa, hide the storage space underneath, and at night when you fold it down, all you have to do is tuck in the edges!

Finding ways to multiple the number of uses for your bedroom is only limited by your imagination.
