What do you do when you have a tired old 1 bedroom unit that desperately needs an overhaul? You renovate it and transform it into a sparkling, modern 2 bedroom unit of course!
When the Property Reimagined team first looked at this unit, we immediately saw, as the owner had, that the back area allocated to the bathroom and laundry was reasonably spacious (well, in a unit this size it was spacious!).
The existing bedroom was large, and although it would mean moving some walls, there was scope to have 2 smaller bedrooms with built-in robes by pinching some space from the bathroom/laundry. Plus we could see the living spaces would benefit from being brighter and more open. And the backyard – eek!!
Steve took on the job of making it happen, although the combination of the Christmas holidays and the arrival of Omicron did cause the timeframe to stretch out. The results were worth waiting for! Despite being the same size, the unit now feels much more open and spacious, and the extra bedroom is a definite bonus.
The unit ended up selling above the asking price prior to auction. So the owners were pleased with the outcome financially as well.
